Small Businesses Still Fail To Use The Power Of The Internet
Peter Sinclair, CEO of OE Seminars www.oeseminars.com, states, ‘I recently looked VERY closely at a Local Business Directory that came into my possession. This directory was prepared by one of the Chambers of Commerce here on the Gold Coast and it contained a listing of hundreds of businesses.’
‘Flicking through the directory,’ he adds, ‘I quickly noticed that many of the businesses failed to promote their Website (that's if they had one) and most of them didn't even bother to at least include an e-mail address.’
‘That's what then brought me to the following discovery. I took out a pencil and began to circle every Website I could find and put an asterix next to those businesses that promoted their e-mail address.’
‘These were my findings: The business who took a full-page ad out on the inside front cover didn't even bother to promote a website nor an e-mail address. Neither did the ad on the inside back cover. Fortunately, the outside back cover had a Website featured. Then in the first few front pages of the newsletter, the distributor of the directory, along with some politicians, had featured their e-mail addresses.’
‘But this then brought me to the next section. These ranged from small ads to quarter page and even half page ads. Only 20.1% of businesses bothered to promote a Website and only another 19.07 % promoted an e-mail address. All up, 39.17% of businesses, which had paid good money for these ads to be placed in this directory, bothered to promote one of the most powerful assets that are now available for businesses to use - THE INTERNET.’
‘I then went on to the final section of the directory where businesses were provided with a free listing. Here there were 766 businesses featured. My research revealed even more alarming results. Out of the 766 businesses, only 6.39% bothered to promote their Website and another 6.91% promoted an e-mail address. Out of all these businesses, only 13.3% thought it necessary to present an Internet presence within their ads.’
‘So what can we deduce from this simple research?’ Peter asks.
‘Any of us who have a Website and promote it, even if we don't YET have a full understanding how to best utilise it for our business, are in a POWERFUL POSITION to get noticed, because so many of our competition still don’t get it.’

Seminars Launched To Help Small Business Slaves
Become BIG Business Masters
Too many small business owners work too hard, too long and for too little reward. And even in the world of franchising, there are also too many franchisees who have simply bought for themselves a job.
With more than 20 years business experience under his belt, Peter Sinclair, a successful web design business owner, has decided to take what he has learnt in building a thriving small business, and share his keys of success with other small business owners here on the Gold Coast.
‘The principles and strategies that I’ve applied in my own business can be readily adapted to any small business, he adds. ‘That is why OE Seminars has been created to equip small businesses to do BIG business.’
Peter goes on to say, ‘I broke my arm recently which rendered me somewhat incapacitated. However, my business in that time generated more income and more profit, even while I was out of action. How many small businesses could claim to be able to do that?’
‘I believe that you need to create a business that you work on rather than work in.’ he states. ‘And that is what OE seminars is going to teach – providing small business owners with the vision and the tools that will help them to become masters of their business, rather than slaves.’
Peter continues, ‘So many small business owners are simply working a job. I want to teach them how they can create a lifestyle with a business that generates cash flow 12 months a year – whether they’re physically present in the business or not.’

20/20 Vision To Be Presented At Free Small Business Seminars
Someone once said that it takes 20 years to become an overnight success. Peter Sinclair's business life confirms that statement, but at the same time he is collaborating with his 20-year-old daughter Sarah to present some exciting seminars designed specifically to equip small business owners to do BIG business.
Peter Sinclair says, with a hint of underlying humour in his voice, 'I had to wait until my kids grew up before I could start to build the most successful business I've ever had.' And along that road to success he has spent the past 6 years mentoring his daughter and other members of his family so that they can succeed at a much faster rate than he ever did.
'I think I've made possibly every mistake a small business owner could make throughout the years, but I'm pleased to report that I've actually stumbled upon quite a few things in more recent times that has helped my own business start to do some really BIG things.'
'There is no reason that a small business owner needs to fall down the potholes I've fallen down,' Peter adds. 'And that's one of the reasons we are conducting these Small Business Seminars. To help those in small business to be better equipped to face the challenges associated with owning and operating your own business.'
What makes OE Seminars unique is that Peter will be sharing the speaking platform with his 20-year-old daughter. Peter states, 'Although Sarah is only 20 years old, she has experienced some huge learning curves in the six years that she has been involved in both other people's businesses, her own business and my business. As a result the wisdom gained from all these experiences has equipped her with business wisdom far beyond her years. And at the same time she will inspire both young and old to reach for their dreams and go for it.'
